- 3:10pm[IT Services] The AV Desk Ben Juby created The AV Desk In all General Purpose Teaching (GPT) rooms are desk is provided at the front of the room which houses all the AV input and control equipment. These desks are manufactured by a company called TeamMate and may sometimes be referred to as ‘TeamMates’.
The main parts are:
Sympodium write on panel - this is the local monitor for the AV PC and can be used as an interactive panel using ‘Smart Board’ software.
Visuliser – This is an illuminated video camera which can be used to view documents and 3-dimensional objects
AV PC – This is the input for PowerPoint presentations, video, DVD etc. It has ‘Smart Board’, DVD playing and visuliser image capture software installed.
Control Panel – this is used to control what inputs go to projector or plasma screen, control projector / plasma on/off/blank and audio levels.
The AV desks should be fixed in position and not moved.
