Office 365 email using the Gmail app (Android)

 

1. Open your device Settings menu (this should be a picture of a cog) and choose Accounts


 

2. Choose Add account


3. Select Exchange

 

4. Enter your email address as your staff number followed by @uos.ac.uk (e.g. e1234560@uos.ac.uk). Press Next

5. Enter your staff account and password. Press Next

6. You may be prompted for Gmail to use Office 365’s auto-discover option. If so, press OK

 7. If you’re re-directed to a manual setup for Incoming server settings, you’ll just need to change the server address to outlook.office365.com. You can leave all the other settings as they are. Press Next

 

8. You may be prompted to allow Office 365 to configure your phone. Press OK and Activate if prompted.

 9. You’ll receive a confirmation message that the account has been added. At this point you can choose an optional name for the account if you wish, this is useful if you have multiple email accounts within Gmail so that you can easily tell them apart. Choose Next.


10. Open the Gmail app. It may take a few moments for your emails and calendar to sync. In order to speed up the process make sure that you’re connected to the Wi-FI! Guides are available for this on our ITS Pages.
