This guide was created using a Samsung running Android 7.0

Please be aware, you will need to delete the previous University account before adding the Office 365 account.

1. Open your device settings menu and choose Accounts


 

 

2. Choose Add account

 

3. Choose Email

 

4. In the Email address field, enter your staff number followed by @uos.ac.uk (e.g. e1234567@uos.ac.uk) and your password. Press SIGN IN

 

5. In the pop-up Select account type, choose Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync

 

6. If you receive this message, please click “OK”. Otherwise, move to the next step:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. When it starts to load your settings, you may receive a security warning. This is nothing to worry about; if you click “CONTINUE” it will try to find your e-mail settings:

 

8. It will then try to pull your account information from our server. If this spins for more than 30 seconds, press the back button on your device:

 

9. You should then see your details on the screen. If they don’t look like the one’s below, please adjust with the following settings and click “SIGN IN”:

Email Address: enumber@uos.ac.uk

Domain\username: enumber@uos.ac.uk

Password: Your Uni Password

Exchange Server: outlook.office365.com

Use secure connection: Tick the box

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

10. You should receive a security warning, please choose Continue or Update. This will open your phone’s Device Administrator screen. You’ll need to click ACTIVATE to allow Office 365 to sync to your device. The warning may appear in your notifications, so check this if it doesn’t appear immediately!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

11. Open the Email app. It may take a few moments for your emails and calendar to synchronize.
