Single Sign On (SSO)
Single Sign On is a service that allows users to sign in to different services, using one username and password.
Where a service is integrated with Single Sign On, the service allows users (Staff, Students and Visitors with a University of Suffolk account) to sign in using their main university account, avoiding having to remember lots of different username and password combinations.
IT Services supports the following Single Sign On standards:
- UK Federation
- SAML 2.0
- Microsoft ADFS
Service Users
This service is available for all individuals with an active university AD account. this includes:
- Staff
- Students
- Alumni
Service Providers
This service is available for Service Provider (SP) Integration, conforming to either the UK Identity & Access Management Federation Standard, or SAML 2.0
Service is available 24x7
General Availability
IT Services aims to maintain an uptime of at least 99.9% (excluding planned maintenance windows)
Services
Integration of new SP (Simple): IT Services aims to process integration requests for Simple SP's (SAML 2.0 compliant, requiring standard user attribute) within 3 weeks of receipt of request
Integration of new SP (Complex): IT Services aims to process integration requests for Complex SP's (SAML 2.0 non-compliant, or requiring additional attributes) within 8-10 weeks of receipt of request

If you are looking to provide an IT Service to the University of Suffolk, or are a member of staff looking to integrate an external service with Single Sign On, please complete the Information Systems Integration Request form
The service is provided free of charge to end-users.
For Service Providers, there is an integration fee of £250.00 to cover the costs
