There are two types of wireless microphone available to use, lapel and hand held. The microphones are assigned to lecture theatres. Make sure to familiarise yourself with the wireless microphones before the day of your session. Below you will find more information on operating our wireless microphones and some useful videos on best practises.

 

The wireless microphones are not interchangeable between rooms. Make sure the microphone you are using matches the room you are in. 

 

WAD 

Only two wireless microphones can be used at any time in the WAD.  

The pack from reception contains two hand held microphones and one lapel microphone.  

 

Only one green and one pink labelled microphone can be used at the same time - never two pink.

LT1 

Three wireless microphones can be used at any time in LT1.  

The pack from reception contains two hand held microphones and one lapel microphone. 

LT2 

Only one wireless microphone can be used at any one time in LT2.  

The pack from reception contains one hand held microphone and one lapel microphone. 

A001 

Two wireless microphones can be used at any one time in A001.  

The pack from reception contains one hand held microphone and one lapel microphone.

Controls

Please do not alter any of the settings on the microphone. All settings have been preset to allow hassle free use. Any changes may disrupt the connectivity of the microphones.  

Switching on 

Half way down the body-pack two buttons on each side allow you to open the front panel.  

You can now see an ‘ON/OFF’ button. Press this once to switch the unit ON. The small screen will turn green and the microphone will now amplify your voice.  

Switching off 

Press and hold the ‘ON/OFF’ button until the small green screen has been disabled.  

Mute

On the top of the transmitter pack there is a mute switch which will mute the audio. 

Volume

There are no volume controls available. the volume has been set to the appropriate level for the room.

Controls

Switching on

On the bottom of the microphone, turn the selector round until the ON button is exposed.  

Press and hold the ON button until the small display will illuminate.  

Wait a few seconds for the microphone to register and then use it as normal. When it is in use, a receiver in the right hand desk cabinet will be lit green. 

Switching off

To switch the microphone off, press and HOLD the ON button again until the small display has been disabled. 

Mute
