The LAPTOP button is one of the buttons that selects the input going into the projector.

When the LAPTOP button is selected the video input on the desk top is connected to the local ceiling mounted projector (or in a few cases a monitor screen),  Also, the audio input on the desk top is connected to the room's wall mounted speakers (or in a few cases the local monitor speakers).

The video input is in the form of a 15 way 'D' connector.

The audio input is in the form of a 3.5mm stereo jack socket.

For convenience video and audio leads are left in teaching rooms and connected to these sockets.  Users simply need to connect the video and audio leads to their laptops.

If different connctions are used for laptop video and audio we can advise on what adapters may be required.  Unfortunately we are unable to supply adapters for different connectors.

The button panel controls the AV switcher in the desk rack.  The LAPTOP input can be selected using the AV switcher if the local button panel is not working.
